Philosophy
Our Thoughts
Automated Presort Inc. developed its business philosophy after serious
reflection. We stepped back for a moment and considered our employees, our
customers, the industry and how they interface with one another.
These are some of the values we determined:
- Clients - We have an appreciation of the critical value brought to us by our
customers. Without them, we cease to exist. With them, we thrive. In some
instances, working with them as a team, we create a new service or improve an
element of something we already do. In all cases, we strive to understand client
needs and serve them.
- Mail Preparation Total Quality Management (MPTQM) - Our commitment to quality
has never been this great. We appreciate the value of integrating quality into

- Thinking Outside the Cubicle - In such a competitive environment, we pride
ourselves in coming up with new services to make our clients' lives a little
simpler. Our three Standard Mail products are an example of such; especially

- Our People - Sorting equipment and trucks do not operate themselves. We work
hard at making sure our team members understand our full appreciation of them.

Having the vision noted above is essential, but a greater challenge could be the
capital necessary to back up the theory. Automated Presort, Inc. has made
necessary investments to implement the above thoughts.
Our Place
The Automated Presort, Inc. physical plant certainly offers a feeling of comfort
to mailers.
A facility tour would show the following:
- Presort Volume - We process up to three million pieces per day (with the
capacity for more) First-Class and Standard Mail. Our Standard Mail volume far
exceeds that of most presort bureaus in the country. This provides our customers
with excellent densities to expedite their mail through the postal system.
- Capital Investment - We now have seven Multi-Line Optical Character Readers with
252 or more bins. This has opened up the door to more 5-Digit qualification, SCF
destination discounts for Standard Mail and our special Standard Mail products.
In each case, our client wins.
- Mail Preparation Total Quality Management - We are audited and certified by a
quality assurance team of the U.S.P.S. The criteria are designed to be like that
of Malcolm Baldridge, Six Sigma or the ISO 9000 series. The most recent audit
was April 19, 2006; we scored slightly below 100%. We have been certified since
July of 1999 and are one of only thirty presorting companies nationwide with
this distinction. But, most important for customers is that we think quality and
incorporate it into our standard practices.
- Air-conditioned Work Environment - The all-season controlled temperature has
created efficiencies with employees as well as with machines. This is good news
for the accurate processing of our clients' mail.
- Technicians on Site - We have six full-time, onsite mechanics, covering all
shifts. This keeps the machines at top performance and our customers' mail
processed as quickly as possible.
- Security - We offer clients a secure building. Sixteen cameras observe the total
premises: offices as well as work floor, inside as well as outside, and upstairs
as well as downstairs. We do reference and job history checks for new hires and
random drug screenings. The building is locked down at all times. Our customers'
mail is secure.
Clear, creative thinking and capital spent to execute ideas are important. But,
what if a company's personnel are lacking training or expertise or, even more
troublesome, they don't care? Automated Presort Inc. offers mailers a competent
staff with a tremendous attitude.
Our Heart
First, employees must know how to do their job. Then, they must want to do their
job. Finally, they must successfully do their job. The Automated Presort Inc.
staff does all three exceedingly well.

- Client Service - We have an outstanding track record of going the extra mile to
accommodate customers. This includes postal issues and relationships, automation
compatibility, and a general attitude of moving to a solution to get customers'
mail out. Our staff takes great pride in answering challenges for mailers.
- Long-tenure Clients - Our client relationships are long-term, many having been
with us for ten years. Our clients know they can trust us.
- Postal Expertise - Regarding USPS® regulations, we have answers. This
includes the DMM, MERLIN, Move Update, automation compatibility and much more.

- Mail Preparation Total Quality Management - The MPTQM program requires a
commitment far beyond doing enough to earn a paycheck. From top management down,
the mindset required and delivered for such a process takes something special

- Standard Mail Strategies - Creating the three service tiers we now offer
standard mailers requires thinking outside the cubicle. Even though a
new program may be difficult to master, when you know something is right for the
customer and you keep after it until you succeed, you reveal what is on the
inside.
So, who are the folks that have our philosophy, that operate our equipment, and
have such a serving attitude?
Our Team
While a dedicated team (one with heart) is critical to customers' mail, one with
experience is important as well. The knowledge available to mailers through the
Automated Presort Inc. team is simply excellent.
Here are some points regarding our crew:
• The Whole Staff - Everyone on our team has
access to benefits such as health insurance and paid vacations. This reduces
turnover and means that experienced personnel will handle clients' mail.
• Experienced Supervisors - The knowledge offered
at our supervisory level is very impressive. Two of our managers have 18 or more
years in the presort industry. Again, our clients' mail is in good hands.
• Managers with Know-How - The average tenure
among our management staff is ten years. Whether working with the equipment or
with the USPS®, our leaders have done it before. Our customers' mail
benefits from their experience.
• Trade Association Membership - We belong to all
the major trade groups and serve as officers in three. The list includes:
Greater Illinois Postal Customer Council (PCC), South Suburban PCC, Chicago PCC,
Northern Illinois PCC, Mail Systems Management Association (MSMA), and Mailing
and Fulfillment Services Association (MFSA). Our continuing education and
development of relationships help solve challenges regarding clients' mail.
• Minority / Woman Owned - We are certified by
the Chicago Minority Business Development Council. This could be important not
only to your organization but to people with whom you do business.
• One of Chicago's Top Privately Owned Businesses
- Automated Presort Inc. is owned by Pethi Velu and his wife, Param. His group
of mailing related companies, Veluchamy Family Companies, comprises the 108th
largest private enterprise in the Chicago area, per Crain's Chicago Business. As
evidenced here and earlier, there is capital available to make sure clients'
mail is processed as quickly and accurately as possible.
• Our Clients - We saved the best team member for
last. Our customers are an integral part of our team's success. The first value
we discerned in our philosophy above was that which we assign to our clients

importance our customers represent to us would be the seemingly infinite number
of times the words client(s') or customer(s') appear on this site compared to
the fewer times the words Automated Presort, Inc. appears.
